Overview

Sustainability Function

Ooredoo Group has established a dedicated, Group-wide Sustainability Function under the leadership of the Group Chief Human Resources & Sustainability Officer to embed Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities across its global footprint. This Function ensures strong governance through a Board-level Sustainability Committee, which oversees ESG strategy, monitors performance, and aligns sustainability efforts with business strategy, risk management, and stakeholder expectations. In 2024, Ooredoo further strengthened governance by restructuring the Nomination and Remuneration Committee into the Remuneration, Nomination and Sustainability Committee, formally integrating ESG accountability at the highest levels of decision-making.

Operationally, the Sustainability Function coordinates closely across corporate teams and in-country operations, supported by ESG Working Groups and designated Single Points of Contact (SPOCs) to drive consistent execution, data collection, and reporting. This model has been commended for enhancing centralized oversight while empowering OpCos to support local priorities. The Function also partners to shape policy, define targets, and guide cross-functional initiatives across the Group—ensuring that ESG considerations influence decision-making, partnership building, and progress measurement while contributing to a strong culture of transparency, accountability, and responsible growth.
